Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The article has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal. Otherwise the submission will be declined.
- The article files (Manuscript and Title Page) are in Word document and the indications in the Guidelines for Authors have been followed. Otherwise the submission will be declined.
- All URLs and hyperlinks are working properly.
- The manuscript is no longer than 7000 words (including references, footnotes, diagrams, tables and appendices) and uses the template provided, strictly following the formatting guidelines. Otherwise the submission will be declined.
- The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for Authors.
- The manuscript does not present information that may identify author/s and has been anonymized in the Word document properties. Otherwise the submission will be declined.
- If you are a non-native speaker, a native speaker should have reviewed your manuscript to ensure the quality and conventions of academic discourse.
- The author accepts that the review process has no definite date for completion of the evaluation, since the reviewers work on a voluntary basis for the journal.
Articles [Regular Issue]
The journal Porta Linguarum publishes scientific articles based on empirical studies, critical reviews and theoretical models that are related to the scope of the journal. Please review About.
Submissions are free of charge and are accepted only during the months of October and April of each year.
Book review [Regular Issue]
Reviews should be no longer than 500 words, and should comply with the directions given for articles. An illustration of the book cover should be included in “.tif” format. The book illustration must be inserted on the left with (measures: 5 cm wide by 8 cm high).
The book review reference must be presented as follows:
