The constant technological and scientific changes in the world, and how fast they are advancing, pose a series of demands and challenges to the university education system, which is increasingly seeking to ensure that students develop their potential in response to such demands and challenges of the 21st century.


The scientific papers taking part in this edition correspond to the special issue of CISETC 2021, held in the city of Chiclayo - Peru, where a variety of research and innovation works in the STEAM fields are addressed, these works are a sample of how educational research is developing in Latin America, as it is consolidating rapidly and undoubtedly has a promising future.

Research as a human activity is one of the most critical functions of society. Failure to acknowledge its importance is a missed opportunity to reappraise the precious assets of humanity. Nor can it be abandoned because without it, we would not have knowledge of the facts, causes, relationships and effects that enable us to understand its causes and factors. Human curiosity provides us with a closer insight into reality. The 14 articles in this monographic attempt to respond to the challenges that the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has generated. In particular, they present some of the solutions and certain consequences linked to the intensive use of technology in educational processes, under the framework provided by Learning Ecologies. It presents studies on teachers’ professional development (the first four articles) and on students’ learning (the next five articles). The impact of this pandemic period is also examined from the perspective of school management teams (article ten) and families (article eleven). The last three articles are devoted to an analysis of the opportunities offered by technology and the barriers to the enhancement of Learning Ecologies that can result from its inappropriate use.

Número especial: conmemoración de los 50 años de creación de la organización del Convenio Andrés Bello

En este número se recogen 12 artículos, todos ellos vinculados al trabajo que desarrolla el CAB y relacionados con cuatro conceptos clave: educación, ciencia, cultura-multicultura y sociedad digital. Dichos conceptos resumen bien todo lo que el CAB ha ido construyendo durante 50 años desde su servicio a la sociedad iberoamericana en general y al avance del sistema educativo, la ciencia y la cultura de sus países en particular.

El número 50(3) forma parte de un año de trabajo intenso en la revista, que se siente orgullosa de estar incluida en SJR Q2 en revistas de educación. En esta andadura de difusión nacional e internacional del conocimiento publicado en la revista reconocemos el trabajo del equipo de personas vinculado a Publicaciones, el apoyo de las instituciones que patrocinan su publicación (Consejería de Educación, Cultura, Festejos e Igualdad de la Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla, Vicerrectorado de Investigación y Transferencia de la Universidad de Granada y Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación y del Deporte de Melilla), la confianza de los autores para publicar con nosotros y las citas de revista que otros autores nos dan. Se recogen en este número 10 trabajos publicados íntegramente en español e inglés, lo que supone el primer número de la revista en el que se da esta doble publicación en los dos idiomas.
