No. 35 (2025): Juan Ramón Jiménez en Argentina y Uruguay

Coordinated by Rosa García Gutiérrez, director of the Juan Ramón Jiménez Chair, this special issue explores the poet’s 1948 journey to the Río de la Plata, where he experienced a “second spring” of creativity. In Argentina and Uruguay, Juan Ramón revitalized his spirit through the fervent admiration of audiences, lectures, and literary gatherings. During this trip, he wrote much of Animal de fondo, a cornerstone of modern poetry, and strengthened ties with exiled figures such as Alberti and Ayala. The articles examine how this experience influenced young poets and Hispanic literature, reaffirming the enduring relevance of his work in times of exile and post-war struggles.
