El volumen estructurado en once Capítulos, cuatro Anexos, y con una extensa y significativa Bibliografía, ha sido concebido por autoras con un amplio bagaje experiencial en la dirección, elaboración e intervención en programas de lenguas y literaturas románicas, en las diferentes universidades de su trayectoria académica. Su valor e interés reside en que, como declaran desde las páginas dedicadas a dar cuenta del contexto de su emergencia, no es un “methods book” para la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras, de segundas lenguas, ni se vincula a un enfoque o metodología en particular. Más bien prefieren considerarlo como una guía apelando a la adaptabilidad, ese rasgo competencial profesional docente que se revela, hoy más que nunca, absolutamente necesario ante la diversidad de situaciones docentes y lenguas objeto de enseñanza/aprendizaje.
