Abstract

Considering such intricate history regarding English learning in Korea and its neighboring nations in East Asia, Kim publishes the book Historical Development of English Learning Motivation Research: Cases of Korea and Its Neighboring Countries in East Asia in hope of contributing to L2 motivation research by analyzing Korean students’ English learning motivation not from synchronic but from macro, diachronic viewpoints.

Author Biography

Chili Li, School of Foreign Languages, Hubei University of Technology, China

Chili Li is associate professor of applied linguistics at the School of Foreign Languages, Hubei University of Technology, China. He obtained his PhD in applied linguistics from the University of Liverpool, UK. His research interests are but not limited to applied linguistics, and foreign language education. His works appeared in Asian EFL Journal, Chinese Journal of Applied Linguistics (ESCI), Frontiers in Psychology (SSCI), and System (SSCI). He also published his works in Springer. He serves as reviewers for a number of SSCI-indexed journals including Applied Linguistics Review, Frontiers in Psychology, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching, Porta Linguarum, and System.
