This paper shows different school assessment models, the more frequently used by evaluators. The models are classified according to the conceptual approach and they are analysed from the following perspectives: 1) school output; 2) internal processes and structural and functional reality of the school.; 3) Institutional improvement, according to the point where the emphasis is placed: inner evaluation or outer evaluation as a complement of the internal evaluation; 4) the methaevaluations of the models used by educational systems. The last part of the work tackles the evaluation on its practice slope (how it is performed in the school), introducing strategies and methodological supports to make easier a so complex and difficult task.Downloads
