Abstract

The unquestionable predominance of simultaneous interpreting over the consecutive mode does not prevent the latter from being used, due to several reasons (language accuracy or logistic reasons).

Although the student may have an adequate linguistic level together with sorne kind of general aptitude for interpreting; the role of the teacher is also essential. This is mainly due to the fact that he has to apply already defined teaching strategies related to this interpreting mode (memory, note-taking, intuition, improvisation, and so on). A pursuit of the afore mentioned strategies will allow the students to enhance the development of the different interpreting skills.

That is the reason why we wíll introduce and go through a set of exercises -based on our teaching experience- that can be practised in the classroom by teachers. They will give the students the necessary academic training for enhancing the cognitíve abilities necessary for their future professional life.
