Abstract

A frame of reference is proposed and valued to study the understanding from the establishment of mathematical connections and some constructs of the Ontosemiotic Approach. For this, the case of 10 Mexican high school students was taken when they solved tasks on the exponential and logarithmic functions. The Task Based Interview was used to collect the data, which were analyzed using thematic analysis and ontosemiotic analysis. As a result, it was obtained that, according to the establishment of the reversibility connection (central mathematical connection), the level of understanding of the students regarding the functions under study can be assessed.
