The schoolar effectiveness is one of the study objectives in the past few decades. Actually, it continues capturing the interest of the researchers and practices of the education. In this work it is pretend to analyse the development suffered by the effectiveness studies in the research field as in the implementation of the improvement processes of the school and its evaluation. The paper is focused on the next issues: 1) Theory importance in the effectiveness research, after some years without it; 2) The new approach to the effectiveness. The "value added" concept; 3) The development of the variables measurement; 4) The new methodological perspectives, specially in data analysis; and 5) the implementation of the improvement processes and their evaluation.Downloads
