Resumen

Education institutions in leisure time exhibit good teaching (the project’s pedagogy) and social (their community inspiration) models, thus being in a very suitable position to develop servicelearning initiatives. In this article, the strengths and weaknesses of Service-learning are analyzed in this context.

Also, It shows that complementary to school projects, these institutions’ service-learning can stimulate all the basic skills and, in a very special way, the power of initiative and personal autonomy and social and civic competences. We present how service-learning in this area is developed, exemplifying some proposals. Finally it is concluded that entities oriented education in leisure time should improve their internal stability, strengthen ties with the territory and overcome some inertia to realize their potential as drivers of service-learning.
