One of the main priorities of Higher Education degrees is to promote the development of competences that enable the students to be successfully integrated into the workforce. Apart from knowledge transmission and the development of practical skills, one of the key tools at the disposal of Higher Education Institutions to promote said integration is the exercise of guidance in its three facets: academic, professional, and personal. Thus, it is essential that HEIs are provided with instruments to examine the development of student competences, as well as the implementation of guidance actions. This paper expounds the development and validation process of an instrument that aims to analyse the extent to which alumni have acquired the competences of the Degree in Pedagogy, as well as their satisfaction with the guidance actions carried out by the teaching staff during the course of their studies. Reliability analyses confirm the internal consistency of the instrument, and the results from the factor analysis advise the reconfiguration of some dimensions, concluding with the establishment of the final version of the instrument. The paper offers a validated instrument to assess the perceptions of alumni regarding the development of competences and the provision of guidance actions during their studies, in this case focused on the Degree in Pedagogy, but easily adaptable to other university degrees.
