Abstract

We shows the results of a survey research developed at the University of A Coruña, between whose purposes was to identify the level of use and the training needs of teachers for the use of office computers tools.
The data show that faculty teachers mainly used the presentation software and word processors and to a lesser extent, spreadsheets and databases. We found significant differences in the level of use according to the age and the teachi ng experience using virtual environments.
Expressed training needs are considerable and do not vary with type of personal variables (sex and age) and professional (teaching experience, category and educational area). We found differences in the needs expressed by analyzing the years of teaching experience using virtual environments.
