Abstract

The study and comprehension of the environment are vital for its conservation, as stated in the Conference of Rio de Janeiro. This article describes the procedure followed to design and develop a measuring instrument to determine the beliefs of Secondary Education students about the environment. After setting the variables and the intrinsic and extrinsic conditionings of the construct to study, the steps followed since the initial formulation of the items to the study of reliability and validity of the questionnaire have been detailed to obtain, as final result, a selfadministered Likert scale, valid and reliable.
