Abstract

This article examines and analyzes the scientific production of the scientific literature about the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) developed by the OECD. We have analyzed the literature appeared in the last decade as well as the public use PISA as it has been appearing in international newspapers and other media. In particular, it is analyzed what influence has had
PISA in the scientific literature since its creation and it is verified through several publications found in the Web of Science (WoS) of Thomson-Scientific (which includes several databases:Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI)) and the Elsevier Scopus database. In addition, search motors of fourth generation like Google Scholar, open and free, were also used. Finally, it has been assessed the resonance of PISA in the daily press and worldwide media.
