Resumen

The initial teacher education for primary and secondary schools has experienced a profound  regulatory change in recent years. In this paper we analyze which activities are being carried out to qualify the future professionals of  the primary and secondary levels. For that, we used the statements of university teachers about activities that they make for and do in classroom. We focused the study on these activities and on educational proposals involved and the image  projected to the current students and prospective teachers.

The study collects the opinion of 132 teachers from 43 different departments of three public  universities in Madrid. The results show that teachers are aware of different teaching methods; they normally  implement it, and use a wide variety of activities. Furthermore, the data seem to suggest the existence of an eclectic position by university teachers in relation to teaching methods used, the educational proposals and changes arising after the emergence of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). In this regard, it is noted that the faculty think that the EHEA has involved to program and evaluate the subjects in terms of competencies and increased bureaucratic  workload.
