Abstract

International forums emphasize the need to promote statistical literacy in the classroom and, particularly, the reading of data-based information represented by statistical graphs. Because the prospective teachers’ professional practice will depend on current knowledge and skills in reading, interpreting and arguing statistical information, an evaluation is required to indicate whether an educational reinforcement in their current training is pertinent. This work assesses the graphic reading level of the information represented by media statistical graphs in 653 primary education prospective teachers.
