This monographic issue addresses the links between Latin American politics in the 20th and 21st centuries and the publishing market, specifically thebest seller segment. The massive fiction or non-fiction literature promoted by the best seller phenomenon can be a window through which to observe political events or specific contexts, as well as a starting point for analyzing modes of contemporary political subjectivation. Insofar as they are linked to an affinity that at a given moment characterizes a social collective, the study of best sellers from their production, circulation and reception aspects is a key contribution to studies on publishing and its links with politics.
