Technical managers of social solidarity institutions, areas of performance and perception of competences. A study in the Central Region of Portugal
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Social Solidarity Institutions are recognized as providers of social services and have characteristics distinct from other organizations. To this extent, their technical managers must have competencies that, according to Wuenschel (2006), are unique to the social service environment. The areas of activity and the professional competences inherent to the technical management functions are approached. We present the study carried out in the Central Zone of Portugal, directed to current technical directors, in organizations oriented to the advanced age. The research, using quantitative methodology, uses the Questionnaire Perception of Competencies of Technical Directors (Simões, 2011, 2012), and seeks to relate the scores obtained (QPCDT_Total and subscales), with the socio-professional variables and variables of the institutional context.
