Abstract

During 2017, the SOBRElab team coordinated the research project “Editorial Laboratories, New Modes, Media and Spaces for Architecture Edition”. The projects had the aim of identifying, mapping and analyzing new editorial models linked to the dissemination of architectural production. The Spanish context was proposed as a research framework. The goal was to approach the new ways and means of proceeding in the field of the dissemination of architecture that are transforming this productive fabric. Its references, influences from other contexts (past and contemporary), as well as the possible connections between initiatives, allowed us to reveal alternative channels for the development of publishing practices and the spreading of architecture. Initial studies allowed the selection of a group of editorial agents, chosen for their special relevance in the contemporary scene, responsible for publications, books and magazines focusing on architecture. The following are ten files, filled out by these agents, who were speakers at the II SOBRE Meetings, Editorial Laboratories, held in March 2017 at the School of Architecture of Granada. Put together, their answers about their work methodologies, interests, problems and aspirations, provide a general idea of the current state of a collective that requires greater visibility and support in the national cultural context.
