LA TRADUCCIÓN AL ÁRABE DEL PIRATA GARRAPATA

Abstract

This article offers a brief descriptive analysis of the Arabic version of El pirata Garrapata, focusing on the procedures used by the translator with regard to cultural references. Specifically, the analysis centres on the benchmarks of material culture, such as food, drink and currencies, as well as social phenomena, such as greetings, religious gestures and expressions, and politeness formulas.
