Changing Tracks: Complementary Education Programme in the Basque country

In the context of educational policies about early school leaving and social exclusion, the Basque Autonomous Community started since the end of the nineties, the Complementary Schooling Program (PEC) as an extreme measure, temporary and exceptional. This program schools outsidethe ordinary center students aged 14 to 16 with special educational needs associated to the school failure to adapt. There are applied once exhausted all the ordinary and extraordinary routes of response to needs. The aim of the program is to facilitate to this students leanings that could turn out to be more useful for his growth and partner - personnel and adaptation to the educational system. The article presents and analyzes this Program from the voices expressed by his protagonists. He presents in addition conclusions that allow to orientate the program towards the formal ordinary and inclusive education.
