Abstract

Education during the emergency motivated by the COVID-19 pandemic reiterated the important role of teachers to keep education systems functioning during the health contingency, and evidenced the need to offer training spaces as teachers support. In order to identify the characteristics of the training provided to basic level teachers during the aforementioned period, a systematic review of research and experiences published in three databases (ERIC, JSTOR and EBSCO) was carried out, from which a final set of 17 documents was extracted. They were analyzed from five categories.  The analysis showed that most of the training was offered online and took a hands-on approach. Two purposes predominated: a) to improve teacher qualification in the use of technological tools, and b) to address the impact of confinement related to well-being and the construction of teacher knowledge.  It concludes the relevance of maintaining the continuous teachers’ training during crisis, to contribute to their professional development and meet their needs in the various spheres of teaching work.
