Abstract

This text is part of a broader framework in which presents the future of the competence approach. Not well defined, unclear and uncertain epistemologically concept is increasingly present in the current educational debate. In a original way, through five stages or movements, we can see the evolution of knowledge, focusing on important pedagogic theories in the second half of the twentieth century, and how important it is at present not only knowledge or skills, but the integrated package of both along with social skills.
