Abstract

In the context of the European Higher Education Area, the article deals with the consulting role in the educational systems. In the first part, some of the fundamental ideas and proposals on educational consulting are developed underlining some of its dimensions, action contexts and approaches in the field. Particularly different examples of consulting professional competencies are described and critically valued. In the second part, a hypothetical framework inspired in and amplifying the DeSeCo approach is discussed with the aim of exploring its potential for the educational consulting design and the development in progress, advocating for a process design model.
