Effects of a role-play on the practice of health-related physical activity procedures in Secondary school

The practice of physical-sports activity is a fundamental habit of life in a society where more and more time is spent on activities of low energetic cost: to watch television, to play videogames, to connect to the internet…; with the health risks that this fact involves. However, to acquire habits of physical-sports practice is as important as it is developed from a healthy perspective, with a view to the improvement of the students’ quality life.
Next, the results achieved, with secondary students, by means of an intervention program in Physical Education, based on a role-playing game, are presented. Its purpose has been to develop habits of healthy physical activity (at a procedural level). These reveal a highly meaningful increase (p≤ 0.001) regarding to the ones previously manifested at the beginning of the intervention program, mainly in that concerning the warm-up and cool-down.
