New challenges for a changing University: Can the new teachers be the protagonists?

The new Latest changes proposed by the European convergence process to Spanish University, encourage a broad debate in teachers training. The adaptation to the European Credit Transfer System requires elaborating institutional strategies which may be helpful to teachers in this period of adaptation. Due to its characteristics and institutional situation the role of novel teachers become especially relevant in this new framework of actions This paper reviews the role of the university regarding its teachers, its commitments and responsibilities, as well as obstacles and opportunities it generates. Finally, actions and interventions that must be taken on to face the current challenges are discussed.Descargas
