Between theory and reality: views and beliefs of teachers about the transmission and promotion of healthy habits in the complex school-family relationship

The work presented is an exploratory study on the beliefs that teachers have on the transfer of physical health habits, as part of the school - family relationship in the secondary stage of education. This triangular content analysis was conducted through interviews with twenty-two university lecturers, developing a focus group with eleven physical education teachers, knowledgeable about the social reality of the rural region of central Andalusia (Spain) and data were discussed by three experts on the topic. This allowed us to confront certain emerging perspectives more fully, deepening exploration of the topic. We conclude that the family is decreasing its degree of influence on the development of habits of their children, a lack of coordination between school and family can be glimpsed. To improve this situation it has been proposed to training for both parents and teachers in this field.Descargas
