Abstract

Our educational system has an unresolved matter: dealing  appropriately with education in values and related issues as  Culture of Peace, a significant foundation in this field. These  are addressed from theoretical approaches, creating a disconnection between teaching and reality. With the rise of  eSports, which have captured the attention of teenagers,  broad educational possibilities are opened up.  This article responds to the need to formulate educational  proposals based on Culture of Peace to work the education in values within the current educational system. A didactic  alternative is proposed that that goes beyond the reproduction of contents, seeking to awake students’ intrinsic motivation and creating awareness of the use value of the topics shown. Through eSports, as a resource to  facilitate education in values, the intervention proposal aims to transform ludic situations into relevant knowledge. To achieve this, we will use an active learning methodology. The activities proposed enhance several types of learning: cooperative, project-based and challenges. We will contemplate a formative evaluation. Among the discussion and conclusions stand out: necessity to solve the crisis of values of our society from any educational institution; insufficient workload of education in values; a shortage of educational proposals based on Culture of Peace in formal education; if we wait to end violence before working on
and developing peaceful situations, we will not achieve it; and eSports could be used in proposals that foster  education in values and the Culture of Peace.
