Abstract

This article is interested in the challenges that the movement of women with disabilities faces regarding the development of scientific and technical knowledge, being a matter of social intervention.

A documentary research has been carried out based on a systematic review methodology in scientific databases and an analysis of public policies on science, equality and disability. The objective was to assess how the needs of women with functional diversity are reflected in relation to advances in science and technology.  The results in the literature indicate the importance of women being involved in the processes of science and technology that concern them, while in politics they have a testimonial presence. In order to favor the rapprochement between women with disabilities and scientific and technical knowledge, the concept of scientific culture and citizen science is considered, under a critical, pluralistic approach that contemplates epistemic diversity and situated knowledge.
