Work and family: Child protection in times of pandemic

Abstract
In contemporary Colombia, the employment of workers in the area of child protection frequently represents high levels of psychosocial risk, burnout, which have been accentuated with the reorganization of this service during the COVID-19 pandemic and after it. The objective of this research was to analyze and map the reconfiguration of the work-family relationship by people involved in child protection work. The methodology was implemented through a qualitative design, which facilitated the collection of empirical information, through interviews applied to child protection workers, chosen through intentional sampling, applying criteria of theoretical representativeness. The research allowed the identification of new facets of child protection work during the pandemic and the effects of these on current work. In the same way, elements were recognized for the improvement of the quality of working life, such as the use of virtual media for user care, and for the prevention of the negatives of the experience, such as the development of alternate work roles and familiar.
