Abstract

At present, many people, mostly women, are dedicated to the care of elderly people or people in situations of dependency who perform care work formally or informally. This work, carried out either in one way or another, is the exercise of a profession for which a series of knowledge, professional characteristics and certain personality traits are required, that is, knowledge, know-how and knowledge to be. Therefore, the general objective of this research is to determine the possible differences between informal care and formal care, considering both as the exercise of a profession. To this end, a quantitative methodology was administered in which the profesiogram has been used as a measurement tool. This profesiogram has been passed out to women careers of the locality of Peal de Becerro (Jaén),that are dedicated to the care of older people or people in situations of dependency, and do so both informally and formally.
