Abstract

Being aware of the importance of the text and, more particularly, of the business correspondence for the foreign trade which works as a communication tool between two firms located in different countries and on which a contact or a buying and selling of goods will depend, in this article we intend to study this particular text typology of the field, i.e., the business correspondence. It is our purpose to develop translation competence among students translating from English into Spanish by strengthening their textual competence by means of a text analysis (at a graphical, lexical and grammatical level). This facilitates text analysis in context as well as other text related factors. Thus the translation learner not only will be able to decide which translation strategies to apply depending on the target text purpose or skopos but the future translator will develop professional abilities.
