Burnout en docentes. Meta-análisis a partir del Maslach Burnout Inventory

Estudios previos han investigado la prevalencia del burnout a través del meta-análisis del Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) en el personal docente. No obstante, los hallazgos fueron presentados de manera general o no son actuales; asimismo, los trabajos no han sido evaluados por regiones geográficas o se encuentran vinculados a otras variables. Por otra parte, los componentes del burnout, así como sus tamaños de efecto se han reportado a partir de los puntajes directos y no en sus medias. La presente investigación llevó a cabo un meta-análisis de la intensidad del burnout [(k = 55/n=31761], los resultados muestran posibles sesgos de publicación y una alta heterogeneidad en los estudios. Aunado a lo referido, existen diferencias significativas en el nivel de realización personal por zonas geográficas (X2= 15.45, gl= 5, p= .009, ε²= .2862). Se discuten las potenciales discrepancias interculturales de las investigaciones analizadas.
