Literatura y poder: una interpretación en clave simbólica de Los girasoles ciegos

Abstract

This article aims to provide a symbolic reading of Los girasoles ciegos (2004) through two
concepts: light and darkness. This paper deals with the meaning of the title, and it comments the
disposition in the narrative structure of the novel, and the value of duality in every chapter of Alberto
Méndez’s work (1941-2004).
