In response to the saturation of speeches of the self, regarded as a revision and
reissue of the vanguardist idea of merging art and life (and their corresponding languages), or
as a reaction to the deliberate beautification of reality promoted by the so-called artistic
capitalism, several attempts have been developed in our recent literature in order to oxygenate
the lyrical discourse from the apprehension and representation of the voices of the
ordinary/common(s). Thus, this article's aim is to contextualize these literary projects
according to a re-politicization and delocation of artistic practices. It would also map the
thematic and aesthetic coincidences of rhetorics of the ordinary. To do so, we will read and
analyse Jorge Riechmann, Juan Carlos Reche and Maria Salgado’s selected texts.
