Globalization in the current theatre in German language

The article presents a view of the new trends in German-language theatre underthe theme of globalization. It starts from the hypothesis that there is a relationship between
the global phenomenon and the theatrical form from performance to document theatre. For
its corroboration, some representative works have been selected from three different points of
globalization, namely migratory movements, criticism of a new neoliberal policy connected
internationally and the impact of the media today. In the German-language theatre of the socalled
post-dramatic era, experiences with documentary content predominate, both to bring
realism to the stage and to probe into the relationship between the factual and the fiction. In
addition to the experimental nature of the plays, there is also a growing political commitment
in today's German-language theatre.
