Abstract

During the decade of 1960 the concept of the artist’s book arose with a subversive carácter: it was used by artists to scape from the museums and art galleries’ system so they would be able to approach to a wider audience. Nevertheless, several times institutions copied these models to their own purposes. We will find artist’s publications which are presented as exhibition catalogues, advertising brochures, or even as art exhibi- tions. One of the clearest examples in carry- ing out this practice would be the conceptual art sponsor Seth Siegelaub.
