Mapping adrift in los Asperones
Main Article Content
Abstract
Different alternative models of undisciplined mapping are analysed, starting from the situationist dri% as a performative model that confronts the cartographic exercise from the human scale. Based on the project A 15 Minutos de Los Asperones and using the performative practice of walking, we study the particularities of this district of Malaga, conceived from its origin as a temporary solution and, therefore, condemned to disappear.
This research aims to demonstrate the power of doubt in the process of mapping in order to break down convention and broaden the understanding of the mapped territory, as well as the behaviours that take place there. Direct exploration of this territory confronts the dichotomy between disappearing and consolidating as a space of dignity. In this context, the sum of different mapping strategies makes it possible to expose the complexity of their social fabric and to approach their plight. From which it can deduce the benefit of replacing a single hegemonic vision with many simultaneous maps that reflect a multiplicity of interpretations and allow alternatives to the established orders to be projected.
