The relationships between Philosophy and Politics are characterized by both tensions and rapprochements. That was the case in Ancient Greece, where Philosophy was born as a new practice of reason, while it opened up the space for Athenian democracy. Such leading figures as Socrates and Plato, so related but different at the same time, show different nuances when addressing the relationship between Philosophy and Politics, between the knowledge of truth and a political reality which alternates abuse of power and citizen participation. A common thread remains as the Socratic-Platonic legacy: the idea of justice governing political order and citizenship education. Hannah Arendt offers some helpful perspectives to re-read the origins of a history still present today.Downloads
