This article attempts to think about the place of poets and poetry in Bolaño's poetics. Based on an analysis of Auxilio Lacouture, the main character in Amuleto, and the context of confinement in which the novel takes place, we propose hypotheses about the relationship between imagination, poetry and temporality. To this end, we start from the hypotheses of Frank Kermode (The Sens of an Ending) and Julia Kristeva (La revolution du langage poétique) in order to consider, finally, the ways in which poetry can counteract the established ways of narrating history.
