Quality Criteria

Revista Letral follows the following criteria and quality indicators in its editorial process: quality, originality, impact and prestige, distribution and Open Access, punctuality and rigor in the process, attention to new technologies, ethics and commitment to our work.

QUALITY AND ORIGINALITY. The evaluation will take into account the originality and scientific quality of the proposal, its affiliation to the field of transatlantic studies and its contribution to the subject investigated, also requiring clarity and argumentative coherence, stylistic correction and an adequate methodology.

IMPACT AND PRESTIGE. Revista Letral is indexed in SCOPUS (SJR), MLA, in numerous international databases, publication evaluation platforms and bibliographic databases, as well as searchers of Open Access scientific literature and catalogues of university libraries around the world.

VISIBILITY AND ACCESS. Revista Letral maintains a policy of Open Access and shared knowledge, having all its published articles available on the web completely free of charge.

PUNTUALITY. The periodicity of the publication (biannual) guarantees an efficient flow of manuscripts. As stated in our guides, the proposed manuscripts follow punctually the different parts of the process.

SERIOUSNESS AND RIGOR. Revista Letral guarantees a rigorous anonymous peer evaluation system. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Board to determine appropriateness for the contents of our journal. Manuscripts deemed appropriate are sent out for blind review to two scholars familiar with the subject matter of the manuscript. Based on these evaluations, manuscripts are either accepted for publication, rejected for publication, or designated as revise. If the evaluations of the two reviewers conflict significantly, a third reviewer is solicited before making a publication decision.

ETHICS AND COMMITMENT. Revista Letral has an ethical code that guarantees the rights and duties of the entire scientific community and is ruled by the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines), which regulates the commitments made by the Editorial Committee, reviewers and authors in relation to the originality of manuscripts, access to data, possible conflicts of interest, correction of errors and responsibility.

EDITORIAL MANAGEMENT. Revista Letral guarantees the quality of the editorial process through the OJS Platform. To the scientific rigor of the texts is added a editorial cleanliness based on the work of the Editorial Committee and the reviewers. The entire process is transparent and accessible on our website, from the sending guidelines to the peer review evaluation and publication protocol.
