Como explican sus editoras, Nuevos espacios. Nuevos formatos. Nuevas dramaturgias en el teatro hispánico actual es una publicación que surge del último de los encuentros académicos del grupo de investigación Performa, que tuvo lugar en Santiago de Compostela en noviembre de 2019, y que constituyó el cierre de ciclo de las investigaciones de un proyecto que había empezado en 2015 y que se propuso indagar en las nuevas formas, los nuevos lugares y las nuevas estructuras del teatro hispánico actual. Se trata de un volumen dividido en tres secciones que logran ofrecer una visión panorámica de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo durante el proyecto y permiten un acercamiento a la actualidad —e incluso dejan avistar el futuro— de las artes performativas contemporáneas desde diferentes perspectivas y metodologías.
