There being no work of literary history or criticism on this subject, this paper proposes toanalyse the characteristic features of a corpus of writing by women dating from the end of the Twentieth
century, to the end of giving a general picture of contemporary Cuban society, as expressed in the
rhetorical discourse strategies of the Castro regime, in the female literature of the "periodo especial",
during the nineties.
