Guineo-Ecuadorian literature written in Spanish involves a diversity of colonial and (trans)national environments whose expression reflects a powerful and fervent inclination towards the emotional and symbolic, that is, towards poetry. In this book, a history of Guineo-Ecuadorian literature is forged and it is both fascinating and ominous: fascinating because Guineo-Ecuadorian poetry written in Spanish is tempered by a fertile cultural and ethnic variety; harmful for the sad reality that engendered it. Guineo-Ecuadorian poetry written in Spanish urges, because it has been earned, a relevant space in university academic research.
