Abstract

The article presents an exceptional document, both for its content and its rarity, as it is a double will, one public and one secret in the form of living memory, written in 1716 by Pedro Vazquez-Lleveni false name used the Sicilian Peter Villaragut Tazzo-who in the late seventeenth century staged a unique life story that culminated in jail and one of the highest levels of government of the monarchy. This vital report tells the adventures experienced by an individual who was a murderer confessed, military, tax farmer, forger of payment cards, and thanks to the possibilities opened up by the venal market, developed during the War of Succession, he ended up as an advisor of finance, charge that he bought in 1707.
