This essay presents an overview of the library of the poet, critic and translator Haroldo de Campos, that is, how he built it up over time, his attitude as a reader and collector, and the profile of the publications he collected during his life. It also focuses on the works related to Hispanic American literature in the library and Haroldo de Campos's relationships with writers from various Hispanic American countries, both personal encounters, which resulted in solid and lasting friendships, and textual encounters, consolidated through reading, writing and translation.
