Financial education is a discipline that allows to understand the way money works, both nationally and individually or family level. This study was carried out with the purpose of measuring the level of financial education that elementary school students have in Cancun, Quintana Roo. An investigation was carried out with a descriptive and cross-sectional quantitative approach, supported by an in-depth review of the literature. 24 children between 11 and 12 years old participated. A non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, the participation of the school was voluntary. An adaptation of the instrument "Level of financial education in higher education scenarios" by Moreno, García and Gutiérrez (2017) was considered using the "savings" measure. Among the results, it is observed that 58% of the participants are clear about the concept of saving. By the other hand, an important finding reflects that 50% would save for an emergency. It is concluded that it is important to pay more attention to the financial education of girls and boys in Mexico, thus contributing to the economic development of the country.
