Teaching history of the present. Reflections on the role of memory
Keywords:
Teaching and learning of history, history of the present, historical memory and oral historyAbstract
Building on the establishment of key ideas on the history of the present and its relations with memory, teaching proposals are suggested both for their development at different levels of education and for their application in the training of teachers. They are contextualized in certain recent historical settings and in thematic areas. Oral history plays a fundamental role when suggesting the teaching proposals. Finally, some lines of research on teaching methodology of history in connection with the core elements of this paper are proposed.
