El vuelo de Ícaro o el patrimonio perdido en el "currículo del futuro"

La invitación a romper con el pasado en nombre de un futuro “mejor” no es algo nuevo en el discurso educativo. Los dos últimos pasos de siglo se aproximan en el énfasis que imprimen a esta llamada, siendo sus argumentos de similar naturaleza. Situándose en el presente, las autoras de este artículo se interrogan sobre la urgencia de hacer valer, a una escala global, un “currículo del futuro” que descarte el conocimiento humanístico, artístico e científico, considerado como “inútil” en un mundo tecnológico donde la felicidad crecerá. Analizan en particular el caso de la cultura y lenguas clásicas por ser el más evidente, en términos de perjuicio en la transmisión del património cultural. Se detienen en un proyecto llevado a cabo en Portugal, por parte de investigadores, profesores y políticos orientado a evitar su extinción.
