Abstract

The article deals with binary oppositions that are some of the characteristics of Julio Cortazar’s discourse, marked by the magic realism. The aim of this paper is to analyze the way the binarity is represented in original texts and the modes of its translation into the Ukrainian language. The binary oppositions presented in the original texts are not always transferred in their translated texts so the Ukrainian reader doesn’t have the access to the profound Julio Cortazar’s work and his vision of the world.
